Welcome to the Homepage of South Bristol Methodist Church. We are a family of four Methodist Churches in Knowle, Totterdown, Brislington (Broomhill) and Bedminster, part of the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Circuit and the UK Methodist Church.

We are a Christian church celebrating the love of God and the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (see more on the page "What we believe")

You are warmly welcomed to join us for worship and other activities. If you'd like to know about baptisms, weddings or funerals or the Christian faith generally, do get in touch.

You can also join us for worship using our videos posted below, or write to us to request a printed and posted newsletter and worship sheet for someone who doesn't have access online.

We are meeting in small groups on zoom to build each other up in faith and encourage each other in hard times. Our in-person groups are on hold for now. Do contact us if you would like to be included.

Follow the tabs above for more information about each church and their regular activities.

If you would like to hire rooms in any of the premises please see the page for each congregation.

This year we are telling the Christmas story in the streets. Follow the trail and join the shepherds and the wise men to kneel before the baby Jesus.

Why do we tell the same story, year after year?

It’s a story that tells us God is with us, not remote and distant. It tells us God shares the weakness of the weakest, and the joy of new life. It’s a story that reminds us God knows what it’s like to be a refugee, to be homeless, to be on the move. It’s a story that includes everyone – the low paid farm workers, the intellectuals, and the animals, all part of God’s creation.

However many times I hear it, there is always something new.

In these times of loneliness and isolation for many, let’s look out for everyone this Christmas and try to make sure no one is left out of the celebration.
