On Sunday 13th November our local preacher, Mr. John Seward led us in a service of Remembrance which included the blessing of 166 Christmas Shoeboxes.  The shoe boxes will be distributed to children in eastern Europe. As well as contributions from the members of Knowle congregation, further donations were received from Park Wall School from Cadbury Heath, our church Mother's & Toddlers Group and from the congregation and guides group from Totterdown Methodist Church.
Many thanks to everyone who contributed.

Baptisms at Knowle

posted 28 Sep 2011 11:44 by Chris Gummer   [ updated 3 Nov 2011 15:25 ]

Sunday 25th September was a baptism with a difference. Our minister, Rev. Paul Weir baptised 15 members of one family spanning 3 generations, which included the grandmother Constance (oldest) in her eighties (centre of photo behind the font), her children and the grandchildren all of whom wanted to be baptized. Paul led the service and some members of the congregation helped with prayers and the baptism itself.

It was truly a joyful occasion and quite emotional and not everybody had dry eyes in the house! Paul said ‘it was almost certainly the highlight of my ministry to date since I became minister here in 2005 and I have never baptized so many at one time’. Many of the family who were baptized on this day said this was truly an event of their lives.

posted 9 Sep 2011 02:25 by Niall Briggs   [ updated 27 Sep 2011 14:11 ]

Come and join us at one of congregational centres for a Back to Church Sunday service. These services are designed with you in mind. If you haven't been for a long time, perhaps if you dropped off coming to church a long time ago or you have never been and would like to see what goes on, then come along and  join us. It doesn't matter what that reason was, this is a chance to feel a part of a Christian faith community.

There will be a variety of different things happening and you will be met with a friendly welcome and more than likely there will be refreshments afterwards. Services are at 10.30 or 11.00am depending on location.

Come along and say hello, we'll be there for you!
